0 Holy/49 Protection/12 Retribution
This build is specifically for raid tanking, as everything is built around maximizing health/mitigation, easing uncrushability gearing and threat generation. There are plenty of great protection builds for more hybrid healing or DPS roles, but this isn't one of them lol.
One of the big downsides to the protection tree is that it offers pretty much zero single target damage. I think it's one of the issues that turns people off (well okay, in addition to raid needs and recruitment issues, but that's a different post). If you know how and where to do it, Protection offers by far the most efficient method of grinding. How? AoE farming.
There are many macros similar to these that do much much more, but these cater to my individual tastes and needs. If you want additional information, the macro section on WoWWiki has a huge honking list. Also, the World of Warcraft UI/macro forums is a decent resouce. There should be a long ass sticky detailing basic macro creation, It's a good read.
Unless I made (another) error or typo, these calculations should be correct for patch 2.1. If you don't know what a Crushing Blow or the Attack Table is, you might want to read this guide.
I tried to organize and trim the boss encounter strategies down to just what's important, but most of what I write tends to be lengthy and verbose. If I get bored enough, I'll add positioning diagrams, boss images, possibly a paladin cheat sheet, and what not.
